Dennis (“DJ”) Jenson has 30 years of leadership and brand-building experience in lifestyle consumer products, with an intense focus in sporting goods, food and beverage, and outdoor recreation. Throughout his career, DJ has held several senior-level operating roles, building and growing market-leading global brands such as Burton, Timberland, and Black Diamond. He began his career as a Marketing Manager with McDonald’s Corporation, but eventually made the choice to focus on brands that captured his passion for Healthy, Active, and Sustainable Living. From 1990 to 2003, DJ served as SVP/Marketing and President of Burton Snowboards, helping to grow the business from a single-product winter sport company into a global portfolio of iconic lifestyle brands. DJ went on to serve as VP of Business Development and Licensing for Timberland. Since joining North Castle, he has played an invaluable role in sourcing and assessing new investment opportunities as well as building on the success of our Healthy, Active, and Sustainable Living brands. DJ currently serves on the Board of Directors for Brooklyn Boulders, and previously served as Chairman of Flatout Flatbread and Ibex and on the Board of Directors of Contigo. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of New Belgium Brewing and 1% For The Planet. He is also the recipient of the Advertising Age Marketing 100 award for excellence in global brand management. DJ earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, along with continued executive education at University of Pennsylvania, Wharton.
