Operating Advisors Gale Bensussen Operating Advisor Gale Bensussen, a founding partner and President of Leiner Health Products with broad experience in sales and marketing, has been part of the North Castle team since 1997. During his 32 years with Leiner, he facilitated one of the early leveraged buyouts, participated in a public offering and transitioned the company to private equity and through subsequent recapitalizations. Mr. Bensussen has been instrumental in building a portfolio of companies to achieve strength in a category as well as to enter new markets. He has created a variety of joint partnerships with international pharmaceutical firms while being instrumental in nine Leiner acquisitions. He was the catalyst to build a pharmaceutical plant in China and to establish an integrated venture in India for the conversion of prescription pharmaceuticals to over-the-counter status. His legal experience in regulatory affairs and corporate governance has helped him contribute to the boards of Leiner Health Products, Avalon Natural Products as well as trade organizations such as CHPA and CRN. He is a current Trustee for the University of Southern California and serves on the Board of Leiner Health Products. He previoulsy served on the Board of Avalon Natural Products.
